Decadent Chocolate Pecan Brownies
How would you describe a chocolate heaven? I don't know either but decadent chocolate pecan brownies would be waiting at the gates. and you have yourself a simple, but gourmet edible gift. Decadent Chocolate Pecan Brownies Ingredients Brownie Base - 1/2 cup (1 sticks) Butter (cut up)
- 6 oz. bittersweet chocolate (coarsely chopped)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs (lightly beaten)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cups coarsely chopped pecans
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
Frosting - 3 oz. bittersweet chocolate (coarsely chopped)
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup pecan halves
Directions - Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter an 8-inch baking pan.
- Base:Sift flour, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl and set aside.
- Melt butter and chocolate in a double boiler over low simmering water.
- Pour into large bowl and beat in the sugar and vanilla.
- Remove from heat and add sugar, eggs, stir lightly until slightly blended.
- Mix in dry ingredients and pecans.
- Pour batter into prepared pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until dry on top and not quite firm. DO NOT BURN.
- Cool completely in pan.
- Frosting: Melt the chocolate in a double boiler over barely low simmering water.
- Stir in the sour cream until well blended.
- Spread the frosting over the brownie base and sprinkle on pecan halves.
- Let chocolate set for 30 minutes. Then cut into bars.
