The world’s best and most popular gourmet jelly bean sold in 50 different, very unique flavors was an idea born back in 1976 in Los Angeles when a local candy distributer developed the idea of creating gourmet jelly beans using natural ingredients whenever possible throughout the candy to provide a impactful punch of taste. The first flavors invented were Very Cherry, Lemon, Cream Soda, Tangerine, Green Apple, Root Beer, Grape and Licorice and are still very popular today.

General Tours

Once inside this real, life candy making factory in Fairfield, California about an hour north of San Francisco, the sweet aroma of the tasty, gourmet jelly beans infiltrates your nostrils and hypnotizes you into a delightful trance.

Jelly Belly tour guides take you on a 40-minute walking tour for you to witness first hand how over 150 different candy treats are produced. Discover the secrets of how the world famous Jelly Belly gourmet jelly bean is made and why it takes more than a week to engineer a single bean.

Weekday Tours

The Jelly Belly Visitor Center is open daily from 9 AM to 5 PM PT, and guided factory tours operate daily from 9 AM to 4 PM PT, except New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Hours are reduced on the 1st Saturday in December, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve; on these three days tours end at 2:00 PM and our retail store closes at 3:00 PM.

Weekend Tours

On weekends and certain holidays, full 40-minute guided factory tours still take place, but the candy making machines are not operational. The candy making process is illustrated on video monitors instead as you are lead through the candy creation process route.
