Strawberry meringues are tasty and light and are a great deluxe sweets recipe to make as candy gifts for your girlfriend, your child's teacher
or even for your clients, after all homemade gifts are more special. Gourmet cookies make a great gift because you can gift package them easily, deliver them to someone far away, they can be made in bulk so they last and they do not expire right away. Most people like cookies so they are more likely to please just about anyone. Strawberry is one of my favorite flavors for deluxe sweets, sweet and tart at the same time, goes well by itself or it mixes well with other flavors, especially vanilla.
-3 large egg whites
-1⁄8 teaspoon salt
-1 package (3 oz) strawberry gelatin powder
-1/3 cup fine granulated white sugar
-1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1. Preheat and Line Baking Sheets: Preheat the oven to 275°F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. Beat Egg Whites: Beat egg whites and salt with electric mixer at medium speed in large mixing bowl to create a frothy mix.
Will be fast, less than a minute. Change mixer to high speed and slowly pour in gelatin powder. Beat mix until
mix is thick and glossy, should take a few minutes. Fold in vanilla carefully with rubber spatula.
3. Pipe Cookies: Scoop the meringue mix into a pastry bag with a big star tip and begin piping cookies one inch in diameter
and an inch apart onto the baking sheets.
4. Bake Meringues: Bake the cookies firm on outside and soft on inside, roughly 30 minutes. Move cookies from baking sheet when finished
to cooling racks. About 10 minutes.
