Sweet Candy Tour: Factory makes Gourmet Taffy out West

History:

The first Sweet Candy factory was built back in 1892 in Portland, Oregon by Leon Sweet. One of Sweet’s main objectives was to create quality handmade candy. After moving to Salt Lake City, Utah, the Sweet Candy Company choice to upgrade to utilize automated, more technologically advanced equipment to produce larger quantities of candy while still maintaining their high quality standards.

In 1999 the company moved into a state-of-the-art 180,000 square foot manufacturing and distribution facility. The Sweet Candy Company is still a family-owned business after all these years with third, fourth and fifth generation family members actively involved in daily operations. The company distributes more than 250 different candy items both nationally and internationally.



Tour Hours

Mon-Thurs: 9 AM – 3:30 PM
Closed-Fri, Sat, Sun and major Federal holidays

The Sweet Company Candy Tour lasts about 40 minutes and is by appointment only by filling out Sweet Candy Tour Reservation Form


The tour concludes with a visit to their retail store so you can purchase Sweet Candy souvenirs and gifts for friends and family.

Store Hours
Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Fridays, 8:00 AM-12:00 noon.
